Pretty Boy Cooking started in a backyard with a propane burner, a few raised beds, and a long Sunday. Years later it's a catering practice rooted in the same idea: vegetables you can taste the soil in, proteins you can taste the smoke on, and food that earns the table it sits on. Don cooks for weddings, listening parties, family reunions, milestone birthdays — anywhere people are gathering and want to be fed like family.

I started a backyard garden because — real talk — if you want organic, you grow it yourself. Pretty Boy Cooking is what happens when the two meet: a kitchen that knows its sources and a garden that knows its kitchen.

Tacos, kabobs, breakfast spreads, full-on sit-downs — I cook for the moment. I keep my events small enough to make everything from scratch. No reheats, no shortcuts.

Hi, I'm Don. I cater dinners, weddings, breakfasts (yes, breakfasts — I can cook breakfast also, ha), and any backyard celebration that calls for actual flavor. I grow most of what's on the plate. I cook everything from scratch. And I've never made a meal that wasn't built around the people eating it.

Pretty Boy Cooking started as a Sunday thing. A few friends, a propane burner in the backyard, whatever was ripe in the garden. Then one Sunday turned into thirty people, and thirty people turned into the catering company you're looking at right now.

I write every menu around your event. I grow most of the herbs and a lot of the produce myself. Tacos, kabobs, breakfast spreads, full sit-downs — whatever the day calls for. I'd rather take fewer events and do them right than book the calendar full and short anyone.

The Chef

Pretty Boy Cooking is a small, intentional practice. Every menu is written by Don. Every plate is cooked the night of, on-site. Most of what's on the table was grown, smoked, or preserved in his own kitchen.

The catering calendar is kept short by design — a handful of weddings, a handful of private tasting dinners, a few corporate buyouts each season — so that no event ever runs second to another.
